Lord Kartikeya Swami – Also know as lord Murugana ,Sanmukha, Skanda kumara or Subramaniam in South India , Kartikeya Swami Temple is located in the high kronch Mountain at 3050 m above the sea level located In the Rudraprayag district of devbhoomi uttarakhand .This is the highest Temple of Lord kartikeya in the world.

Lord Kartikeya is a very important God  and been worshiped not only in India but across many countries of south Asia including Sri Lanka, Malaysia ,Singapore ,this is often referred to ancients gods one of the versions of Kartikeya Swami could also be found in Mahayana Buddhism ‘’Skanda bodhisattva”   "Katikeya" this word derives from the Sanskrit word "Krtitkka "(cluster of Six star in the Sky) when lord kartikeya was born he was born with five heads upon seeing the birth of lord kartikeya on the banks of Ganges every kriti (star) wanted to take care of the lord as a mother/ nurse of the son upon seeing this battle for motherhood lord originated one more head so he can be taken care by all the  Six kritkas from where this name has been than given to lord as kartikeya , since he also born in the Kritika nakshatra this name  even derives from there.

According to Mythology Lord Shiva once asked his sons to take a round of the Universe & announced that winner would get the opportunity to worship the parents first. "Lord Shiva" Second Son Lord Ganesha encircled parents and won the competition,because for lord Ganesha  his parents mean the universe  However Lord kartikeya was still on His journey to take a round of the universe on his Peacock when lord kartikeya returned he got angry on the already declared  result and gave his bones to his father and his flesh to his mother and descend here at kronch parvat to  meditate. 
These bones are still in this temple which are  worshiped by thousand of devote ,38 Kms from Rudraprayag on pokhri route ' kanakchauri 'village comes  from here tourists trek appx 3.5 km to reach up-to the temple this is hassle free trek which is surrounded by lush-green trees from this temple we get 360 Degree view of Himalayan peaks.

Kartik Poornima is an important festival celebrated in the month of November this is to celebrate the lord kartikeya birth , In month of June there is kalash yatra festival which is celebrated every year.

If Some one want to discover the beautiful , magnificent Himalayan Mountain Range one cannot just skip this place, at a altitude of more than 3,000 meter this place give a spectacular view of Himalayan Range , the mountains which could be easily viewed from the places are numerous more than 20 Himalayan Peaks  could be seen from here to name a  few list compromises Himalayan peaks of Satopnath ,nanda devi, chaukhamba,hardeol,trisul,nanda devi group of peaks,dunagiri,kedarnath main,tugnath,gauri parbhat,hathi parbhat,nilkanth you have a chance to witness all these  highest Peaks of The Himalayas form this point. 
 
But for a Clear View of the Peaks one must consider  Season Rain-fall , foggy weather ,since during monsoon its not suggested due to Heavy rains occurs at this time, winter period or summer time could be the choices one could take for the visit also for staying option there are many Small Budget lodges are available at Rudraprayag.

From Delhi one could Take a bus either  to Rudraprayag(Over-night Journey Suggested)Pvt. or Sharing Taxis also available or one  can take bus to Rishikesh from there are direct buses options for  Rudraprayag, from Rudraprayag  by bus or shared Jeep one can reach to Kanakchori the gateway of kartikeya Swami Temple   a distance of 40 km It takes 2 hrs and 30 minutes to reach there on the Rudraprayag - Pokhri route.
